Your subconscious believes what you tell it. There is no room for negative thoughts. Here are some affirmations you can say to yourself (as well as your subconscious) and start living in the positive.

  • The past has no power over me
  • When I believe in myself, so do others
  • I will feel good things about me today
  • I release the need to be right all the time and to judge others and I am free
  • I easily forgive all those that need forgiving and I forgive myself
  • I make friends easily wherever I go
  • I am fully capable of managing any challenge that comes my way
  • I know myself best and trust myself to choose an activity that is regenerating to me
  • I deserve the very best for myself

Telling yourself good things, feeds the subconscious mind allowing it to have you start believing in your efforts and yourself.

Creating small reminders for yourself using post its, small cards, little notes - sprinkled throughout your home and work area will have you reading and repeating with greater frequency.

Good thoughts are good habits and the more you repeat them, the better you can feel.

Small exercise we will call Gentle Nudges (under a minute a day):

  • create an affirmation that you would like to say to yourself
  • create little notes for yourself with your affirmation
  • place them in locations you are likely to see them (on a door, inside the refrigerator, on your wallet, wherever you frequent)
  • repeat your message either out loud or to yourself 5 times a session, 3 times throughout the day
  • override negative self talk by repeating the affirmation until it has a chance to be said with clarity.

It sounds so simple, but it is amazing how easy this is to forget. So remember, gentle nudges. Treating ourselves kindly is one of the best personal gifts we can give t ourselves and self talk is something that only we own, no one else.Have an affirmation or related story you’d like to share?
